Quick recap

Season one runs 19 episodes, each a self-contained story, nearly all adapted from a book in the series. It opens with The Haunted Mask, where a girl buys a mask that won't come off. Then come The Girl Who Cried Monster, Welcome to Camp Nightmare, Say Cheese and Die! and Night of the Living Dummy II, Slappy's TV debut. The endings almost always save one last twist, the scare that leaves the door open. The season wraps with the two-part The Werewolf of Fever Swamp, about a boy who moves next to a swamp where something howls at night.
