Quick recap

Carly Beth Caldwell, easily scared and the target of Chuck and Steve's pranks, buys a hideous mask at a new shop to get even on Halloween. The mask is alive and feeds on fear. Bit by bit it takes over: she terrifies her little brother, nearly chokes her friend Sabrina, and the mask fuses to her face. She frightens the two bullies to tears but can't take it off. The shopkeeper says only a symbol of love can break the spell. Chased by the rejected masks, she realizes the symbol is the plaster head her mother sculpted of her. With it, the mask comes loose. Carly Beth heads home resolved to be herself, and finds her brother wearing the mask.
