Quick recap

A newspaper clipping from the future says the house at Fraser's Ridge will burn in 1776, with Jamie and Claire dead. As the date approaches, Claire is kidnapped by Lionel Brown and rescued by Jamie. Brianna puts an end to the Stephen Bonnet threat. Tom Christie's family settles on the Ridge, and young Malva, pregnant, accuses Jamie of being the father. Malva is found dead, and Claire is jailed as a suspect until Tom Christie takes the blame. The fire comes, but Jamie and Claire survive. Roger and Brianna have a daughter, Amanda, with a heart condition, and go back to the 20th century to save her. The book closes with them at Lallybroch in the 1980s.
