Quick recap

The bones of 12-year-old Arthur Delacroix turn up in the Hollywood Hills, and Harry Bosch takes the case. At the same time he's facing a civil suit over a suspect he shot in self-defense. Serial killer Raynard Waits claims he killed the boy and takes a personal interest in Bosch. Waits escapes and terrorizes the city until Bosch kills him as he raises a gun that turns out to be empty. The jury sides with the widow but sets the damages at one dollar. Bosch learns Arthur was killed by Johnny Stokes over a skateboard. Stokes walks because he was a minor at the time, and the boy's father ends up killing him.
