Quick recap

In 1993, Bosch couldn't prove who made Marie Gesto vanish. Thirteen years later, working cold cases with Kiz Rider, the case comes back: Raynard Waits, arrested in Echo Park with body parts in his van, confesses to several murders, including Gesto's. On the trip to the supposed burial site, Waits grabs an officer's gun, kills Detective Freddy Olivas, wounds Rider and escapes. Bosch comes to suspect someone altered the files and that the confession was a deal. He finds Waits in a tunnel and is forced to kill him. Rachel Walling, who worked the case with him, breaks things off.
