Quick recap

Mickey Haller works out of the back seat of a chauffeured Lincoln and defends whoever can pay. Then he lands a rich client: Louis Roulet, a Beverly Hills real estate agent charged with assaulting a woman. Investigator Raul Levin finds video showing the victim lied, but also digs up Roulet's hidden past. Visiting a jailed former client, Jesus Menendez, Haller realizes Roulet committed the crime Menendez was convicted of. Levin is murdered with Haller's father's gun as part of a frame. Bound by privilege, Haller wins the trial and still steers the police toward Roulet for the old murder. Roulet's mother, Mary Windsor, shows up at Haller's house to kill him and ends up dead.
