Quick recap

On the Hollywood night shift, Renée Ballard catches a man going through the station's files: it's a retired Harry Bosch, reworking the death of Daisy Clayton, a 15-year-old runaway found in a dumpster in 2009. Ballard joins the case, and they comb through old field interview cards. The trail leads to Roger Dillon, who runs a crime-scene cleanup company. Along the way, Bosch is abducted by the Mexican Mafia, and Ballard rescues him from a dog kennel in Sylmar. She finds evidence in Dillon's warehouse, and Bosch arrives in time to take him down. Dillon confesses and names another victim. Daisy's mother dies of an overdose. In the end, Bosch and Ballard agree to be partners.
