Quick recap

Lucinda "Luce" Price is sent to Sword & Cross reform school after a boy named Trevor dies in a fire right after kissing her. She sees shadows no one else can and blames herself. At school she befriends Penn and Arriane, catches Cam's eye and feels pulled toward Daniel Grigori, who keeps trying to push her away. Another fire kills Todd. Daniel tells her he's a fallen angel and that the two find each other in every life, but she always dies. Teacher Sophia kills Penn and tries to kill Luce before the shadows swallow her. Since Luce was never baptized, her next death would be her last. Daniel takes her away to keep her safe.
