Cam

In the movie, Cam is the first to show interest in Luce at Sword & Cross. At the party in the woods, his attraction is obvious. Meanwhile, teacher Sophia tells Daniel that Cam may have caused the statue that nearly hit her to fall.

On Luce's birthday, Cam takes her to a club in town and they kiss. Daniel shows up, breaks up the night and accuses Cam of running with Lucifer. For Luce, new and scared at school, Cam is the easy company: he pays attention without playing games. With Daniel, everything is harder.

When Daniel tells Luce the truth on the rooftop, Cam arrives right behind him. He warns that Lucifer will come for her because she was never baptized and asks her to choose him over Daniel. She's caught between them, each with a different story about who wants to hurt her.

Daniel leaves Luce with Sophia and goes after Cam. Mid-fight, Cam says he isn't the one behind the deaths that keep following Luce. He's right: it's Sophia, who wanted Luce dead to force Daniel to choose Heaven.

In the series, Cam greets Luce by claiming to know why she's really at Sword & Cross. After her first escape attempt, she starts remembering that she hurt Cam and goes after his medical records to figure out what happened.

Meanwhile, Dr. Howson captures the creature that attacked Luce, an ancient Outcast with a hive mind. When it breaks loose and leaves a trail of bodies across the school, Cam tries to escape with Luce and the other residents while Daniel lies unconscious in the medical bay.

After Penn's death, Roland accuses Cam, and Daniel has to step in between them. As the residents try to work out what happened, Cam goes to confront Dr. Howson, the man behind the school's experiments.

When the Outcasts overrun the school and Sophia takes Luce into the woods, the residents have to fight together to reach her. The rivalry between Cam and Daniel gets set aside, at least for that night.

In the books, Cam appears in all four novels and got a book of his own in 2015, Unforgiven. Harrison Gilbertson plays him in the movie; Timothy Innes, in the series.
