Laurie Strode

Laurie is a shy student who babysits two kids in Haddonfield. She spots a masked man around town and nobody believes her. When her friends die, she fights Michael with a knitting needle, a coat hanger and a knife. She survives, but he vanishes after Loomis's shots.

Laurie is taken to the hospital, hurt and sedated. Michael follows, and she learns she's his sister, adopted after Judith's death. The reveal explains the chase. The empty hospital becomes a maze, and Laurie has to run once more.

Twenty years on, Laurie lives under another name, runs a school and is mom to John. She drinks, has nightmares and keeps a close watch on her son. When Michael finds her, she sees that running is pointless and chooses to face her brother instead of hiding.

In Resurrection, Laurie is confined to a psychiatric clinic after all she's lived through. The opening sequence shows the end of her line, and it sets up the reality show set three years later.

In the 2018 trilogy, Laurie is a grandmother who has spent her life training for Michael's return. The house became a fortress, her daughter Karen grew up away from her, and granddaughter Allyson tries to bridge the gap. When he escapes, Laurie sees her paranoia confirmed.

Four years later, Laurie is trying to live in peace with Allyson and write her memoir. Michael has vanished, but fear keeps changing the town. When a strange young man gets close to the family, Laurie grows wary. It's her last chapter.

Jamie Lee Curtis plays Laurie in 1978, Part II, H20, the opening of Resurrection and the 2018 trilogy. In Rob Zombie's remakes, Laurie is played by Scout Taylor-Compton.
