Quick recap

Forty years after the 1978 night, Michael Myers is locked up. Two podcasters visit the psychiatric hospital to interview him, and he says nothing. Laurie Strode has spent her life preparing for the day he returns: she turned her house into a fortress and pushed her daughter, Karen, away. On Halloween night, Michael escapes during a transfer. Laurie, Karen and granddaughter Allyson stand in his path. The film ignores all the other sequels and follows the original directly. The final trap is Laurie's own.
