Quick recap

At Prufrock Prep, the Baudelaires befriend Duncan and Isadora Quagmire, also orphaned by a fire. Olaf shows up as Coach Genghis, gets unmasked and kidnaps the twins. At the penthouse of Esmé Squalor, who becomes Olaf's ally and girlfriend, the orphans find their friends at the bottom of a fake elevator but can't save them. In a village overrun by crows, Jacques Snicket is murdered and the Baudelaires are blamed. The Quagmires escape in a balloon with Hector. At the hospital, Olaf nearly operates on Violet's head. At a carnival, Madame Lulu dies in the lion pit. In the end, Olaf takes Sunny, and the caravan carrying Violet and Klaus rolls down the mountain with no brakes.
