The trip ends with Georgie and Meemaw arrested for smuggling cigarettes, and George bails them out. Mandy enters the Coopers' lives, Mary drifts away from the church and Georgie meets Mandy's parents, Jim and Audrey. Sheldon builds a database, considers dropping out to focus on it and watches the university start a project without him. Mandy gives birth to CeeCee on a day nobody in the family can be found, and Sheldon's database flops. Missy takes off in her dad's truck, Georgie proposes to Mandy and Mary confronts Brenda. In the finale, Sheldon and Mary fly off for a summer in Germany while a tornado bears down on Medford.
