Sonic the Hedgehog 2

Sonic lives with the Wachowskis and tries to be a hero, but he is reckless. When Tom and Maddie leave for a wedding, Robotnik, who escaped the mushroom planet, turns up with Knuckles, an echidna warrior after the Master Emerald. Tails, a two-tailed fox who idolizes Sonic, arrives to warn him. The three chase clues around the world. Robotnik betrays Knuckles and takes the emerald, which makes him powerful and builds a giant robot. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles fight together. The emerald shatters into seven Chaos Emeralds and Sonic turns superpowered. Knuckles repairs the Master Emerald and settles in with the group. At the end, Commander Walters learns about Project Shadow.

1. Behind the scenesThe working title was Emerald Hill

   The shoot was listed in British Columbia under the name Emerald Hill, the first zone of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game. The film mixes ideas from Sonic 2 (1992), Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles (1994) without adapting any of them directly.

2. CameoJason Momoa was considered for Knuckles

   In February 2021 it was reported that Jason Momoa was being considered to voice Knuckles. On August 10, 2021 came the confirmation: it would be Idris Elba.

3. SetupProject Shadow shows up at the end

   In the final scene, Commander Walters hears about a secret research facility and recognizes it as the one housing Project Shadow. It sets up the third film.
