Quick recap

In 2345, what's left of humanity lives in Silo 18, a 144-level shelter. Anyone who breaks the rules is sent out to clean the sensors and dies. Sheriff Holston asks to go out, as his wife did years before. Mayor Jahns and Deputy Marnes travel down to Mechanical to recruit Juliette, who becomes sheriff. Jahns is poisoned by Bernard, the head of IT, and Juliette learns what IT is hiding: the helmets show a fake landscape. Sent out to clean, she doesn't. She reaches Silo 17, where only Solo lives, and learns there are dozens of silos. Juliette comes back, Bernard dies in the airlock, and she is elected mayor.

What changed on screen

  1. ChangeBernard dies in the airlock

In the book, when Juliette comes back and enters the airlock thinking she's saving Lukas, she finds Bernard there instead, and he burns to death. The show saves the scene for the end of S2 and leaves both their fates open.

  2. ChangeNo Judge Meadows

The books barely mention Judicial, and Judge Meadows isn't in them. On the show, she becomes a piece in Bernard's game and even an old flame of his.

  3. ChangeAllison gets a voice

In the book, Allison Becker shows up almost only in Holston's memories. The show gives her a storyline of her own, with the investigation that leads both of them outside.

  4. ChangeSolo's name

In the books, Solo is Jimmy Parker, son of Silo 17's head of IT, and was about 17 during the uprising. On the show, he claims he was the shadow of Russell, that silo's head of IT.
