Quick recap

Bosch splits his time between a private job and volunteering for the San Fernando police. Billionaire Whitney Vance, near death, wants to know if he had a child with his college girlfriend, Vibiana Duarte, and demands total secrecy. Bosch learns the son, Dominick Santanello, died in Vietnam but left a daughter, artist Vibiana Veracruz. Vance dies, and his handwritten will names Bosch executor. Bosch proves Vance was murdered by his assistant, Ida Forsythe, who set up a fraud. In San Fernando, he identifies a serial rapist, the Screen Cutter, an ex-cop who abducts Bosch's partner, Bella Lourdes. Bosch shoots him and rescues Bella.
