Quick recap

In 1992, in the middle of the LA riots, Bosch and Jerry Edgar were first to see the body of Anneke Jespersen, a Danish photojournalist killed near a burned-out store. The case went to the riots task force and was never solved. Twenty years later, a shell casing from the scene links the gun to three other murders. Bosch's boss and the LAPD brass try to stall the case to avoid bad press around the riots' anniversary, and fail. At home, Maddie says she wants to be a cop. Bosch learns the killing wasn't random riot violence but tied to a secret from before 1992, and he goes after those responsible at real risk to himself.
