Quick recap

Renée Ballard runs the LAPD's new cold-case unit and recruits the retired Harry Bosch, who signs on for one reason: to close the murder of the Gallagher family, buried in the Mojave Desert. The unit takes the 1994 killing of Sarah Pearlman, sister of the councilman who created the group. DNA ties it to a 2005 murder and leads to Ted Rawls, a retired Santa Monica cop. In a chase, Rawls wounds Bosch in the ear and then kills himself. On his own, Bosch tracks the Gallaghers' killer to Key West and kills him. In the end, he tells Ballard he has cancer, linked to his cesium exposure, and she convinces him to tell Maddie.
