Full story

In the Syrian desert, vampires Danica Talos, her brother Asher and their bodyguard Jarko open an ancient tomb. Inside sleeps Dracula, the first vampire, now called Drake. To get Blade out of the way, they set a trap: Blade kills a "vampire" who is actually a human in disguise, and it's all caught on camera. Blade becomes the most wanted man in the country. The FBI raids his hideout, Whistler dies and Blade is arrested.

In custody, the vampires line up an interrogation with a psychiatrist on their payroll. Blade is rescued by Hannibal King, a former vampire who never stops talking, and Abigail Whistler, Abraham's daughter, whom Blade never knew. They're part of the Nightstalkers, a group of human hunters. Blind scientist Sommerfield is working on Daystar, a virus that can kill vampires through their DNA. The catch is that, to work on a large scale, it needs Drake's blood.

Drake is immune to sunlight, garlic and silver. He shapeshifts and walks the streets taking in the modern world, and he doesn't like what he sees: he despises both humans and today's vampires. The Talos siblings want his blood to erase the species' weaknesses. Blade faces Drake in an alley and finds out he's too strong. Meanwhile, Abigail and Blade discover blood farms, where comatose humans are kept alive just to feed vampires. Blade shuts it all down.

Drake attacks the Nightstalkers' base, kills nearly everyone, Sommerfield included, and takes King and her daughter Zoe. The vampires torture King, but he holds out. Blade and Abigail storm the Talos building to rescue them. Abigail kills Asher, King breaks free and kills Jarko, and Blade goes after Drake alone.

The final duel is sword against sword, and Drake has the upper hand. Abigail fires an arrow loaded with Daystar, which lands near Blade. He drives it into Drake, the virus spreads through the air and kills the vampires in the building, Danica among them. The dying Drake tells Blade he may be the next of the species and takes on the form of another man. The FBI finds Blade's body and takes it to the morgue. In the last scene, he wakes up on the autopsy table, escapes and keeps on hunting.
