Quick recap

Mrs. Coulter keeps Lyra asleep in a Himalayan cave. Will and two angels rescue her, but the knife breaks and Iorek mends it. Lyra and Will go down to the Land of the Dead for Roger and must leave their daemons behind to enter. There, they cut a window that frees the dead. Mary Malone lives among the mulefa and builds the amber spyglass, which lets her see Dust. Asriel and Mrs. Coulter fall into the abyss with the angel Metatron. Lyra and Will fall in love, and Dust starts falling again. But every open window leaks Dust, so they must live in separate worlds. In the end, they promise to visit the same bench in Oxford's Botanic Garden every Midsummer.

  3. ChangeA stripped-down Land of the Dead

The series goes for a stripped-down Land of the Dead, with washed-out ghosts and cliffs of old belongings. The mulefa move differently too, gliding like speed skaters.
