Amanda Young

Amanda wakes up in a room with a device clamped to her jaw. If she can't open it in a minute, it will rip her head apart. The key is in the stomach of an unconscious man beside her. She does what she has to and gets out alive. At the station, in front of Detective Tapp, she cries and says Jigsaw helped her. She's the only survivor the police manage to hear from.

Soon after, Amanda goes with John to Mexico. She helps build the traps for Cecilia Pederson's crew and proves loyal to the man she says saved her. When Cecilia flips the game, Amanda ends up trapped with John and a young boy, and sees up close how he plans everything.

Amanda is one of the eight people locked in the gas-filled house, along with Daniel Matthews. She knows the place and the rules better than the others, and survives as the group falls apart. In the end the truth comes out: Amanda is on Jigsaw's side. She's the one who locks Eric Matthews in the old bathroom and says "game over".

With John dying, Amanda starts building traps nobody can escape, breaking his main rule. She abducts Dr. Lynn Denlon and refuses to share John with anyone. A flashback shows she was the one who killed Adam in the bathroom. The final test is hers: Amanda shoots Lynn and Jeff kills her.

After her death, flashbacks reveal more. Amanda was at Jill's clinic the night of the robbery that cost Jill her baby. Hoffman found out and used the secret to pressure her, in a letter that helps explain why she lost control.

Shawnee Smith plays Amanda in Saw, Saw II, Saw III and Saw X, and shows up in flashbacks in other films.
