Quick recap

After a fire destroys their home and kills their parents, Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire end up with Count Olaf, an actor who only wants the family fortune. Olaf tries to kill them in a car parked on train tracks, and Mr. Poe takes them away from him. At Uncle Monty's house, the new assistant Stephano is Olaf in disguise, and Monty turns up dead. With Aunt Josephine, Olaf becomes Captain Sham and leaves her to the leeches. By "rescuing" the orphans, he wins back custody and forces Violet to marry him in a play. Klaus burns the certificate with the tower's lenses, and Olaf is arrested, then vanishes. A letter from their parents holds a spyglass marked V.F.D.
