Quick recap

Cricket learned as a dragonet that she's immune to Queen Wasp's mind control, and her sister Katydid helped her hide it. Now a fugitive, she travels with Blue, fresh out of his cocoon, and Sundew, who wants to burn the Hives. In Jewel Hive she learns Katydid is really her mother. She's caught, escapes with Lady Jewel's help and sneaks into the Nest, where she sees Wasp inject eggs with something that ties the dragonets to her control. Cricket escapes with an orphan egg that hatches into Bumblebee, a dragonet free of the control. The LeafWings attack Bloodworm Hive, and the group destroys the queen's greenhouse. Sundew keeps a cutting of the plant, and they head for the Poison Jungle.

Trivia

  1. Behind the scenesA real wasp

The mind-control idea came from a real wasp that can control a caterpillar or an ant for a while. Tui left out some wasp behavior she found too creepy.
