Quick recap

Sundew leads her friends to the Poison Jungle, where the LeafWings survive in hiding. She learns her parents used the flamesilk she took from Blue to set Bloodworm Hive on fire. She meets Willow, a SapWing, and Queen Sequoia, then sets out to find Hawthorn, an old LeafWing said to hold a cure for Wasp's control. Hawthorn hands them a root, but it is the breath of evil itself. The true enemy reveals itself: a thinking plant, the othermind, which has controlled Hawthorn for 50 years and controls Wasp too. Willow kills Hawthorn, and everyone flees. The othermind sets the jungle on fire, and the LeafWing and SilkWing refugees fly southeast toward islands shown on a map.
