Quick recap

Across the sea lies Pantala, where Queen Wasp of the HiveWings rules everything. Blue, a gentle SilkWing, believes in the queen and just wants to get through his metamorphosis in peace. Everything changes when his sister Luna comes out of her cocoon with flamesilk, a rare gift, and the HiveWings take her. Blue runs and gets help from Cricket, a curious HiveWing who asks too many questions, and from Sundew, a LeafWing, a tribe everyone thought was extinct. Along the way, Blue learns that Pantala's official history is full of lies and that the queen has a terrifying hold on her own tribe. In the end, Blue enters his cocoon for metamorphosis, guarded by his new friends, while the queen starts hunting them all.
