An adaptation of the Sasuke novel. Unresponsive villagers show up at Konoha's gates and explode, and Kakashi calls Sasuke in to investigate. He crosses paths with Chino and Nowaki: Chino is the last of the Chinoike clan and uses the Ketsuryūgan to turn people into living bombs, and Nowaki turns out to be the real Fūshin, the culprit Sasuke was hunting. Instead of killing them, Sasuke talks about the friend who saved him, and both surrender. The Mizukage offers them a chance to atone by serving the Mist. After getting a letter from Naruto, Sasuke decides to head home.
