Quick recap

In 2019, nine years after the possession, Josh is divorced from Renai, his mother has died and things with Dalton, now 19, are bad. Neither remembers the Further. At art school, Dalton finds himself painting a red door. Josh starts seeing the spirit of his own father, who he thought had walked out on the family. Dalton leaves his body again and runs into the red-faced demon, who traps him in its lair. Renai tells Josh the truth about what happened to their family, and he goes into the Further to save his son. Josh holds the red door shut while Dalton escapes, and Dalton paints over his picture in black, which seals the real door. His father's spirit guides Josh back. Father and son make peace. After the credits, the light over the sealed door flickers back on.
