Quick recap

Lyra Belacqua grows up at Jordan College, Oxford, in a world where everyone's soul lives outside the body as a talking animal called a daemon. Hers is Pan. When her friend Roger is taken by a gang that steals children, Lyra agrees to go to London with the glamorous Mrs. Coulter, bringing the alethiometer, a device that answers questions truthfully. She learns Coulter is behind the kidnappings, escapes with the Gyptians and heads North with aeronaut Lee Scoresby and the bear Iorek Byrnison. On Svalbard, she helps Iorek win back the throne from Ragnar. At Bolvangar, she frees the children. The film ends with Lyra on her way to Lord Asriel, without the book's bridge.
