Quick recap

Two years after the trilogy, 15-year-old Lyra is back in Oxford. From the roof of Jordan College, she and Pan watch a flock of birds attacking another bird. It's Ragi, the daemon of a gravely ill witch, who asks for help finding the alchemist Sebastian Makepeace. Lyra guides him across town, but the visit is a trap set by the witch Yelena Pazhets, who wants her dead. A swan attacks Yelena, and she dies. Lyra realizes the birds were on her side all along. The little book also includes a map of Oxford, ads, pages from a travel guide and a postcard from Mary Malone.
