Quick recap

Trevize still doubts the choice he made. With Pelorat and Bliss, he sets out to find Earth. On Comporellon he gets the coordinates of three ancient worlds. Aurora is abandoned and overrun with wild dogs. On Solaria, the isolated inhabitants nearly kill the group, who escape with the child Fallom. Melpomenia shows where the 50 ancient worlds were, and the center points to Earth. On Alpha, an ocean world, the locals plan to kill the visitors. Earth is radioactive and lifeless. On the Moon they find R. Daneel Olivaw, the robot who has guided humanity for millennia and wants to merge his mind with Fallom's. Trevize stands by his choice, though he's still uneasy.

What changed on screen

  1. ReferenceThe bridge to Robots and Empire

This is where Foundation meets Asimov's other cycles. Aurora and Solaria are the worlds of books in the Robot series, and the radioactive Earth comes from Pebble in the Sky, part of the Galactic Empire cycle.

  2. Behind the scenesThe end of the timeline

It's the last book in story order. After it, Asimov only wrote the two prequels, which go back to Seldon's youth.
