Ali is Daniel's daughter, the teenager who takes the danger most seriously in the second film. She researches the demon while the adults still doubt, and comes back as a guide for the new leads. Molly Ephraim plays her.
Ali, from Daniel's earlier marriage, sees odd things on the cameras. Researching, she learns demons make deals for a first-born son, and that Hunter is the first boy on Kristi's side since the 1930s. She protests when Daniel decides to pass the demon to Katie. Back from a school trip, she finds her father and Kristi dead.
The fourth film opens on the night of October 9, 2006: Katie kills Kristi and Daniel and takes Hunter. Ali is the only survivor, and police never find Katie or the boy.
In The Marked Ones, Ali researched demons after her father and stepmother were killed. She explains to Hector and Marisol that Jesse was marked by The Midwives and gives them the address of the final ritual. Molly Ephraim makes a small cameo.
According to Wikipedia, Molly Ephraim's appearance in The Marked Ones is a nod to the earlier films, along with the box of tapes with Katie and Kristi's childhood.
