Quick recap

In 1813, Daphne Bridgerton has plenty of friends and no suitors. Simon Basset, the new Duke of Hastings and Anthony's friend, has sworn never to marry or have children, because of the father who rejected him as a boy for his stutter. They agree to a fake courtship: he escapes the matchmaking mothers, and she looks more appealing to other men. The act turns into love. A kiss Anthony walks in on leads to a duel challenge, and Simon agrees to marry, warning that he can't have children. After the wedding, Daphne learns the truth about his vow, and the marriage hits a crisis. In the end, they work it out and start a family.
