Quick recap

In 1813, Daphne Bridgerton debuts in London's social season as the queen's favorite, but her brother Anthony scares off every suitor. She strikes a deal with Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings, who has no plans to marry: a fake courtship that gets everyone off their backs. The act turns into real feelings, and a kiss in the garden ends in a rushed wedding. Simon says he can't have children, and Daphne learns that he actually won't, because of a vow he made against his father. They fight, make up and, in a flash-forward, have a son. Marina, a Featherington cousin, escapes a scandal. In the final moments, viewers learn that Lady Whistledown is Penelope Featherington.
