Quick recap
Washington, D.C., 2003. Cross is in the middle of FBI training when he lands a kidnapping case: a federal judge's wife vanished in broad daylight. He sees it matches other recent abductions, from a housewife to college students. The victims aren't held for ransom. They're sold. Everything points to a Russian mobster called the Wolf, who only talks through a secure website and has a mole inside the case, since everyone arrested ends up dead. Fed up with the Bureau's caution, Cross goes his own way. Christine Johnson comes back wanting custody of Ali. With help from the NYPD, the CIA and the Russian government, the FBI arrests Andrei Prokopev as the Wolf, but the last chapter shows the real Wolf is still out there.
