Quick recap
Washington, D.C., 2002. Cross and Sampson look into the conviction and execution of Army Sergeant Ellis Cooper, whom they believe was innocent. They find a pattern: several soldiers were convicted and executed for killings where the bodies were painted. The trail leads to three Vietnam-era Rangers, the "Three Blind Mice," who painted dead villagers red, white and blue. All three die in the final shootout. The man giving orders was General Mark Hutchinson, West Point's commandant, who used the Rangers to frame soldiers and had a colonel killed to protect his bid for the Joint Chiefs. Hutchinson captures Cross but is killed by a Vietnamese gang avenging wartime atrocities.
