Quick recap

Locked in an Alchemist re-education center, Sydney resists the group's mind games. She secretly uses magic to gather information and plan her escape. Outside, Adrian searches for her through spirit dreams and, at Court, takes Nina Sinclair, another spirit user, under his wing. With dhampir allies, he raids the center and frees Sydney and other prisoners. The two get married, which earns them the Moroi queen's protection, and the Alchemists are thrown out of Court. To pay for the rings, Adrian sells his Aunt Tatiana's cuff links. The book ends with Jill missing.
