Dead to the World

On New Year's Eve, Sookie finds Eric running down the road with no memory. Pam explains that a coven of witches, some of them werewolves, wants his territory. Jason negotiates a fee, and Sookie hides Eric at her house. The next day, Jason disappears. With Eric's memory gone, the two get together. Pam rallies vampires, Alcide's pack and Wiccans against the coven, and only its leader, Hallow, survives the fight. Pam forces her to lift the spell, and Eric comes back with no memory of his days with Sookie. With Sam's help, Sookie finds Jason in Hotshot: the werepanther Felton bit him to turn him. Debbie Pelt breaks into Sookie's house to kill her, and Sookie kills her first.

1. ChangeNo return from Faerie

   The book doesn't open with Sookie back from Faerie, and she doesn't know she's part fairy yet. The house stays hers; on the show, Eric buys it.

   In the book, the coven is led by siblings Marnie (Hallow) and Mark Stonebrook. Antonia's spirit, who possesses Marnie, and Lafayette's boyfriend Jesus exist only on the show.

   In the book, Pam tortures Hallow into lifting the curse, and Eric can't recall his lost days. On the show, he gets his memory back through Sookie's fairy powers.
