Trolls Holiday

After Trollstice was cancelled, the Bergens had nothing left to celebrate. Poppy decides to bring Troll holidays to Bergen Town. She brings the Snack Pack and Branch, who doesn't know how to be happy, and Cloud Guy drives the bus. Bridget and Gristle are overwhelmed by all the festivities, and Bridget asks Poppy to give them space. Poppy walks away, feels she has lost the friendship, and realizes she never listened to what Bridget needed. When she returns, the town is decorated by the Bergens themselves. The two apologize, Branch smiles and everyone celebrates the new holiday, Troll-A-Bration.

1. Behind the scenesNearly as watched as the Grinch

   The special premiered on NBC on November 24, 2017, Black Friday. It drew 5.36 million viewers and was the second most watched show of the night, behind only How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at 5.78 million.

2. CameoThe director came from the first film

   Joel Crawford, who directs the special, was a story artist on Trolls (2016). He had already worked with director Mike Mitchell on Shrek Forever After (2010).

3. ReferenceThree shorts warmed up the special

   To promote the special, three shorts came out in 2017: Dress Up, with Biggie playing dress-up, Together, with Satin and Chenille stuck to each other, and Trolla-Palooza Tour, with Branch unnoticed on a tour.
