With Megatron gone, the Decepticons fight over who's in charge, and Starscream and Soundwave clash. The Combaticons are rescued and form Bruticus, who attacks Tacoma and takes on Devastator. On the Autobot side, Ultra Magnus still bears the scars of his torture, and Carly tries to convince him that humans and Transformers share the same pain. A new robot, Shredhead, joins the fight with a laser sword. Mysterious soldiers who look a lot like G.I. Joe take Carly and the comatose Ultra Magnus. In the end, Devastator throws Bruticus off a Seattle skyscraper, Starscream rips Ravage out of Soundwave's chest, and Megatron reappears, heals Ravage in front of his troops and receives Soundwave's loyalty. Optimus orders the Autobots to fall back.
