Quick recap

Simon Furman takes over at issue #56 and shifts the tone: the war moves back to Cybertron, the gods Primus and Unicron appear, and Transformers mythology takes shape. In #75, Unicron attacks Cybertron, and Optimus dives into the monster's maw with the Matrix; Unicron explodes and takes several characters with him. In #80, Optimus returns, rebuilt by the Last Autobot, the war is declared over and the Decepticon Bludgeon flees into exile; the Autobots stay to help the planet Klo and head home to a restored Cybertron. The book also includes the 1986 movie adaptation and the 12 issues of Generation 2, where the robots face a new threat, the Swarm.
