Quick recap

Roland, Eddie and Susannah find one of the Beams that hold up the Tower and start following it. Roland is losing his mind: he remembers letting Jake die and also crossing the desert alone. It's a paradox, since saving Jake from Jack Mort changed the past. In 1977 New York, Jake suffers the same split. Eddie carves a key, Jake finds a rose in a vacant lot and steps through a door in a haunted house on Dutch Hill. The group reunites and gains Oy, a talking billy-bumbler. In the city of Lud, Jake is kidnapped and rescued. They escape aboard Blaine the Mono, an insane AI that plans to crash itself. Roland proposes a riddle contest. The book ends in the middle of it.
