Quick recap

Two years after the first film, Ted marries Tami-Lynn. A year later the marriage is strained and they decide to have a baby. When they try to adopt, Massachusetts rules that Ted is property, not a person. He loses his job, his accounts and his marriage. John and a young lawyer, Samantha, go to court to prove Ted is a person. Meanwhile an obsessed old fan tries to kidnap him for a toy company. Seth MacFarlane directs again, and Mark Wahlberg returns as John.

Hidden details

  1. Behind the scenesThe original plot was scrapped

The first idea had Ted and John smuggling weed across the country. It felt too close to We're the Millers, so the story was redone, inspired by the North and South series and the life of Dred Scott: Ted must prove in court that he is a person.
