Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson is 16, has dyslexia and ADHD, and lives in New York with his mother Sally and her abusive boyfriend. On a school trip, a teacher turns into a Fury and attacks him. His friend Grover, a satyr, and Mr. Brunner, really the centaur Chiron, take Percy to Camp Half-Blood. There he learns he is Poseidon's son. Zeus accuses Percy of stealing his lightning bolt and gives him until the summer solstice to return it, or war breaks out. Percy, Grover and Annabeth, daughter of Athena, cross the United States chasing the bolt and a way into the Underworld.
