Quick recap

Young Gwenda Reed arrives in England and buys a seaside house in Dillmouth. She seems to know every corner of it. At the theater, a line from The Duchess of Malfi brings back a childhood memory of a woman named Helen strangled in the hall. Gwenda once lived there, and Helen was her stepmother, who everyone says ran off with a lover. With her husband, Giles, and Miss Marple's advice, she digs into the past and tracks down the men in Helen's life. The killer is Dr. Kennedy, Helen's half brother, who was sickly obsessed with her. He tries to strangle Gwenda too, but Marple is hiding in the house and stops him.
