Quick recap

Attorney Howard Elias, famous for suing the LAPD, is shot dead on the Angels Flight funicular in downtown LA. He was about to represent Michael Harris, who accuses cops of torture. The city fears riots like 1992, and Bosch leads the case, paired with Internal Affairs detective John Chastain. The leads point to a murdered girl's stepfather, Sam Kincaid, tied to child pornography. His wife kills him and then herself. Bosch's ex-partner Frankie Sheehan turns up dead and becomes the official culprit. Bosch learns the killer is Chastain, but while arresting him he watches a mob drag Chastain from the car and beat him to death. Bosch stays quiet to keep his badge.
