Kingsman: The Secret Service

In 1997, a Kingsman agent dies saving Harry Hart. Seventeen years later, his son Eggsy, a directionless London kid, calls an emergency number and Harry nominates him for the agency: a secret spy organization that fronts as a tailor shop. Eggsy competes with other recruits while Harry investigates the billionaire Richmond Valentine and his free SIM cards. Valentine plans a signal that will trigger violence across the world. Eggsy faces the villain and becomes the new Galahad.

1. Behind the scenesA spy film that had fun

   Mark Millar and Matthew Vaughn talked in January 2012 about how serious modern spy films had become and wanted to make a "fun" one. Vaughn gave up directing X-Men: Days of Future Past to focus on the project.

2. CameoSamuel L. Jackson and the Bond villain

   Samuel L. Jackson took the villain Valentine to play "a really great Bond villain," since he had long wanted to appear in a 007 film. The character's lisp was partly inspired by Jackson's childhood stutter. Rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio would play the part were denied.
