Eggsy Unwin

The London kid who became an agent

Gary "Eggsy" Unwin is a young Londoner who joins Kingsman through Harry Hart and becomes the new Galahad. Taron Egerton plays him in The Secret Service and The Golden Circle.

Kingsman: The Secret Service

From medal to suit

Eggsy grows up without his father, agent Lee Unwin, killed on a mission in 1997 while saving Harry Hart. Seventeen years later he is arrested for stealing a car and calls the number on a medal Harry gave him. Harry nominates him for the agency and puts him in training alongside Roxy, under Merlin's supervision. Eggsy fails the final test by refusing to shoot the puppy he raised, but with Harry out of action he takes over the mission: he infiltrates Valentine's hideout, kills Gazelle and takes down the villain. He becomes the new Galahad. His abusive stepfather, Dean, is still waiting at home. In the extra scene Eggsy offers his mother and younger half-sister a new home and goes to settle things with Dean and his gang.

Galahad and Statesman

A year later, Eggsy is Galahad and dating Princess Tilde. An attack by the Golden Circle cartel destroys the Kingsman headquarters, and he and Merlin travel to the United States to ask Statesman, an agency disguised as a distillery, for help. There they find Harry, alive but without memory. Eggsy helps him recover it, goes after the antidote to Poppy's poison and faces her in Cambodia. In the end Eggsy marries Tilde. He plants a tracker on Clara, Charlie's ex, at Glastonbury, which strains his relationship with Tilde. In Cambodia, Merlin sacrifices himself on a landmine in his place.
