Lodestar

At Foxfire's Midterms Celebration, Keefe, now with the Neverseen, warns Sophie of a plot against her parents and escapes. The trail leads to the Lodestar symbol and a scheme created by Lady Gisela. Sophie gains a new ability, Enhancer, which boosts others' powers by touch and means she has to wear gloves. At the Peace Summit in Lumenaria, Fintan is arrested, but it was all a trap: the fortress comes down. Mr. Forkle dies from a wound from Gethen after protecting Oralie, and Fintan, Gethen and others escape. Keefe rejoins the group with stolen memory caches and realizes the real target was Sophie's human family. At the empty house, Sophie's sister Amy remembers everything and says the kidnappers took them to Nightfall.

   Mr. Forkle showed up at the start of the series as the neighbor who scared off a kidnapper. Here he dies protecting Oralie and leaves Sophie one last piece of advice.
