Quick recap

Venice, 1947. Poirot is retired, with ex-cop Vitale as his bodyguard. On Halloween, novelist Ariadne Oliver talks him into a séance at singer Rowena Drake's palazzo to expose medium Joyce Reynolds. Joyce is murdered, and the house seems full of ghosts. Leslie Ferrier, the medium's helper, is killed too. Poirot reveals that Rowena slowly poisoned her own daughter, Alicia, staged her suicide and killed Joyce and Leslie to cover it up. On the roof, Rowena falls to her death. Poirot breaks with Ariadne, keeps Vitale on and goes home ready to take new cases.
