Quick recap

The Bensons inherit a huge house in Dark Falls from a great-uncle nobody knew. Amanda and Josh sense something off: the town is dark, the neighbors are pale, and their dog Petey vanishes near the cemetery. New friends Ray and Karen say they used to live in the house, and the kids find gravestones with their names. The whole town is undead, made by yellow gas from the local factory, and they need fresh blood once a year. The great-uncle never existed; the inheritance was bait. Light destroys the dead. Josh uses his flashlight, the kids topple a tree to let the sun in, rescue their parents, and the family flees.

Stine has said this one may be too scary, because he hadn't found the series' humor yet. If he rewrote it, he'd add more jokes.
